Agri-food workshop for the promotion of Made in Italy
The ICE Agency envisages the realization of an Agri-Food Workshop in Stockholm aimed at promoting the Made in Italy food and agriculture of the 4 regions of the Convergence (Calabria, Campania, Puglia and Sicily), scheduled in Stockholm from 27 to 28 March 2017, at the Hotel Haymarket (Hotorget 13-15, 111 57 Stockholm, Sweden).
Sweden represents a market with a strong potential for Italian agro-food exports. Statistics from the Swedish Board of Agriculture (Jordbru ksverket) show that the consumption of food and wine products has increased over the past fifteen years. The consumption of vegetable oils, meat and wine, recorded the most significant increase. The total agro-food trade seen abroad, recorded an increase in the first half of 2015 compared to the corresponding period of 2014. The value of imports in the Swedish market increased by more than 4%; the value of those from Italy rose by almost 10%. The question mainly concerns the “Italian Excellencies”: www.ice.gov.it productions with high added value, regional specialties and PDO and PGI products, organic and with a strong artisan characterization. The workshop will take place from 27 to 28 March 2017, at the premises of the Haymarket Hotel.
The Event will be structured as follows:
27. 03. 2017: welcome to the participating companies and visit an example of GDO site near the location of the Workshop, from 16:00 to 19:00. At the end of the visit, a meeting of the Italian participants will be organized with the staff of ICE Stockholm who, assisted by an expert in the sector, will provide operational information for a profitable approach to the Swedish market.
28.03.2017: Workshop, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm: presentation of the specialties of about 20 producers of the Convergence Regions through b2b meetings.
Target: journalists, restaurateurs, teachers of food and wine / tourism schools, importers / wholesalers, large scale retail trade, large catering / party-service, retailers and opinion leaders.
The following communication actions are planned:
personalized invitations to journalists, restaurateurs, teachers of food and wine / tourism schools, importers / wholesalers, large scale retail trade, large catering / party service, retailers and opinion leaders from Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia and Latvia;
brochure of the participating companies, sent in electronic format together with the invitation by the ICE-Stockholm Agency, to the Scandinavian operators;
advertising campaign of the event at the local specialized press.
The promotion mainly concerns high quality products: high added value productions, regional typical products and PDO and PGI products, organic and strongly crafted.
Particular attention will be paid to the following product categories: dairy products, cured meats, vegetable preserves, legumes, gluten-free products, organic products, alternative flours, sweets and chocolate.
